    Thomas Bromley(1629–1691)

    English Behmenist (a follower of Jakob Böhme) and nonconformist mystical writer, best known for The Way to the Sabbath of Rest (a devotional-theosophical guide to inner regeneration) and associated with the Philadelphian milieu (a network of dissenting, 'esoteric Christian' seekers who gathered around John Pordage and the visionary writer Jane Leade, emphasizing inner illumination, divine wisdom, prophecy/visions, and a hope for spiritual renewal).
