    John Campbell Colquhoun(1785–1854)

Scottish writer who helped introduce Mesmerism to British readers in the 1830s. His Isis Revelata collects cases, arguments, and commentary on animal magnetism, presenting it as both medical phenomenon and philosophical puzzle. Colquhoun's work is a window into the period's experimental psychology and its fascination with altered states.
