The spiritual guide, : which leads, by the inward way, through the vail, to perfect contemplation, and to the rich treasure of internal peace

    The Dial's edition: 1798

"Happy soul, which, even when it is disturbed, afflicted, and disconsolate, keeps steady there within, without going forth to seek exterior comfort."

A classic of Quietist-adjacent interior spirituality in English reception: it teaches disentanglement from compulsive striving and a turning inward toward stillness, purity of intention, and surrender—highly influential and highly contested in its day. Listed in The Dial as Spiritual Guide, Dublin, 1798.
